21st March 1939
Louis ten Brink, born 25 April 1874 in Emlichheim, arrived illegally in Holland on 20 December 1938 in order to stay here. Despite the Comité’s advice he went back to Germany the next day because he did not want to leave his sister alone. From that time on he had to report to the police every day. After about three days he was arrested in Neuhenhaus and did not return. Nothing was heard of his whereabouts. On 19th March 1939 the family heard from the police that he had died.
