The child, a girl of ten years, has had a nervous breakdown. She is living with strangers. It was at school, when the looting began. The school children were all taken to the schoolyard in groups, and the biggest had to help. Whilst doing this the child began to scream and to shout, “I want to go to my mummy”, to which the answer was given, “You won’t see your mother again, she has already been hanged.” That was not true, she had only been arrested. The child was then put on a train to Hamburg where she wandered around until she was found the following morning...
