... In the meantime I have again received terrible appeals for help from the X. family. They write to me that the father of the two children who have already been requested by me was seriously mistreated during the pogrom despite his serious illness (heart disease). The home has been completely vandalised and the people have nothing more to eat, so that it is a matter of very great urgency to get the children away from there.

The mother was for roughly 20 years the chairwoman of a Jewish welfare association and has done endless good for the poor and the sick, so that this family really deserves that now it too will be helped for once...
