Extracts from letters to the Kindercomité in Amsterdam.

26th November 1938
The undersigned request you kindly to assist them as regards admitting Judith R. of D. into the Netherlands. The child is the little daughter of the former organist of the liberal synagogue H. and assistant organist at D. On account of the destruction of the D. synagogue and devastation of the synagogue at H., the same is destitute.
During the night of the pogrom the same stayed mainly with non-Jewish citizens, in the cellar. Because the man is entirely destitute, parents and child must suffer hunger. It is not possible to send them food, as the man is not on the dole, has to pay import duties, whilst he has command of nothing.
Hoping that you will be favourably disposed towards the fate of the abovementioned little one, I sign thanking you in advance and with greatest respect.
Below on the application form: Father seriously ill in hospital, his condition is very bad, the mother is with him all day, the child is alone at home unsupervised.
