Currently in Amsterdam there is a Herr A., formerly of Essen and Bochum, recently of Berlin who, together with ten companions, succeeded in breaking out of the Oranienburg (Sachsenhausen) camp on 11th November where he had been for c. eleven months.
They knocked down an SS guard, were taken far away by a long distance transport and in this way after many other difficulties and dangers four men got as far as Antwerp in their cotton drill uniforms, from where they then were sent here. Three others were able to get through to Poland. He knew nothing about the fate of the remaining four men.
