Zürich, 18th November 1938
Dear Sirs,
In response to your letter about destroyed synagogues in Germany, I am informing you of the following destruction of synagogues on the border, ascertained by eyewitnesses:
Tiengen : the synagogue there was completely burned out and became a slaughterhouse. The cemetery was also destroyed and all the gravestones were uprooted.
Gailingen: the Jews of the small town were ordered to be present at the destruction of the synagogue (which was rather a large building because of the former size of the Jewish settlement).
Konstanz: The synagogue here was also destroyed.
The business of a Swiss man in Nuremburg was completely wrecked. His home remained undamaged because of the caretaker’s objections. According to a statement by the resident in question it is one of the few homes that was not destroyed.
Yours faithfully
Saly Braunschweig, Nüschelerstr. 36 II, Zürich
